NEWS RELEASE

Boston Chapter CPCU Society Group Supports the Greater Boston Food Bank

BOSTON, November 19, 2007 – 17,089 pounds, give or take a few ounces.
That’s the amount of food 11 volunteers from the Boston Chapter of the
CPCU Society and 46 others helped to sort at The Greater Boston Food
Bank on Saturday, October 27. These insurance professionals and other
volunteers each processed around 240 pounds of food, or the equivalent
of 185 meals.

The Greater Boston Food Bank is the largest hunger-relief organization
in New England and is one of the largest food banks in the country. It
distributes more than 24 million pounds of food annually to hundreds of
local hunger-relief agencies, relying on over 12,000 volunteers a year
to separate, sort, inspect and package the food.
